Cathexis releases new Entry Level Hybrid Video Recorder
South African developer and manufacturer Cathexis will be releasing their new DVR-1008 product in July. This low-cost product has 8 Full Frame rate analogue Video channels, 8 isolated inputs, 4 relay outputs, 1-channel of bi-directional audio and 2 RS422 ports. On top of this, the system can also accommodate the full range of Cathexis and 3rd party I.P cameras (Axis, Bosch, Samsung, Sanyo, Mobotix, Arecont etc.)

Cathexis and Xone Support Childline
Cathexis Africa and Xone Integrated Security have teamed up to provide technology and commissioning to Childline KZN in Durban and will be rolling it out into other centres in South Africa. The original KZN project was initiated by Westville Rotary.
Cathexis Launches Integrated Access control Solution
Cathexis launched their new Integrated Access Control/CCTV system on show at IFSEC. This solution provides an Access Control System AND CCTV solution on ONE platform. The product includes an integrated Access Controller with the software fully integrated into the Cathexis range of Digital Surveillance Equipment. It provides local and remote user enrolment and data mining as well as the ability to “track” users and playback video across multiple access points. The system makes use of the Impro IXP20 system controller which is Ethernet based and can accommodate up to 1000 tag-holders and 5000 buffered transactions.
Integrated solution for Hershey School
South African surveillance systems developer and manufacturer Cathexis Technologies has provided an integrated surveillance solution to the Hershey School Campus in Pennsylvania. The solution includes multiple DVR/NVRs accommodating some 700 cameras and integration to the 'Open Options' access control system.
Cathexis system integrates with CaddX alarm panels
Cathexis has recently completed integration with the CaddX alarms panels to provide an elegant integrated solution for estates with multiple alarm panels and Surveillance requirements.
In line with the Cathexis strategy of providing integrated solutions to the market ( Access control, Fire panels, Point-of-Sale, Weighbridges, Scales etc.), the integration with the CaddX allows the security and estate managers to manage the system via a single user interface.
The Cathexis system provides a full hierarchical interactive map interface which automatically “drills down” to selected maps upon messages from the alarm panels. In the graphic below one can see the camera positions on the map which the operator can “drag and drop” into the virtual matrix mimic panel. In addition to this, alarm information is portrayed on the map.
