Cathexis Technologies is an electronic systems development and manufacturing house specialising in Digital Surveillance and Management Systems for the international security market. Cathexis have been active in this business for more than 15 years and have a significant installed base of products and solutions extending from our country of South Africa to Europe, North America, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The beginnings of Cathexis' image technology expertise dates back to 1991 and the original design team now forms the kernel of Cathexis' engineering staff. The software used throughout Cathexis' product range has evolved from its early embryo state to the powerful application packages that today form a stable, flexible and highly integrated software suite. The project experience and application engineering expertise accumulated over the years is embodied in Cathexis' systems, as is evident in the wealth of features and powerful integration capability that set these systems aside from competitors.

Cathexis solutions can be found in many vertical markets including Retail, Banking, Transport, Mining, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Defence and many others.

Our Mission

The word Cathexis derives from the Greek word “kathexis”, meaning ‘focused thought’ or concentration of energy on an object or idea. This principle is embodied in our mission statement which epitomises our continuous quest for excellence:

Integration and reliability are our highest priorities. Our systems incorporate functionality such as video switching, advanced video motion detection, motion tracking, access control and people counting. An Application Programme Interface enables other related systems manufacturers to integrate with Cathexis products to supply customers with a single point of operation and information access.

This suite is fully configurable to cater for applications requiring simple, user-friendly operator interfaces as well as complex central monitoring requirements

Cathexis products include I.P, Analogue and “Hybrid” video solutions as well as Integrated Management solutions incorporating Access Control, video, Alarm Panels, Point-Of-sale and other systems. Cathexis systems offer “System Health Monitoring facilities to ensure peace-of-mind through remote maintenance software that can proactively resolve any potential problems before they manifest.
